Map
of the Burial Ground
The
burial ground is designed around a glade pattern, created
by our
Forestry Commission advisor. Below is the area currently used
for burial. It is divided into nine glades, all individually
named.
It
is not possible to indicate which areas are available for
new burials, since burials continue to take place regularly,
but currently there is still plenty of space available. Families
are encouraged to visit the grounds if they are considering
a burial and identify several areas they like, so that when
they meet with staff to choose a location (we do not assign
grave spaces on any grid or other system, preferring to involve
the family if they wish) they already have an idea of where
they prefer. Families should be aware that with the reservation
system, there may well be adjacent grave spaces reserved that
may not be obvious as older graves begin to fade, but staff
will advise on meeting as to what is available in any particular
area.
A
plan of the newly planted glade areas will become available
once it is opened up for burial in due course.
